Sharon Y. Giese, M.D., a board certified plastic surgeon, is a fellowship trained female breast specialist. She is also nationally and internationally known for body contouring and large volume liposuction.

Dr. Giese is the recipient of multiple prestigious grants over the past ten years, and has been involved in groundbreaking research on the effects of liposuction to improve cardiac risk factors and weight loss. This research has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, Allure magazine, CBS “The Early Show,” FOX, ABC, and NBC evening news. The Learning Channel (TLC) produced a special program following one of Dr. Giese’s patients through a large volume liposuction procedure. This program demonstrates the power of this technique, not only for its superb results in body contouring, but also its aid for weight loss.
Her excellence and innovation is recognized in numerous peer-reviewed published articles, book chapters, and national lectures in Plastic Surgery available on request.
Dr. Giese is a nationally recognized expert on the benefits of large volume liposuction and its use for weight loss. She is the Medical Director and founder of Arete Medical Foundation, Inc., whose purpose is to conduct medical scientific research relating to diabetes and its prevention, to disseminate this to the public, and to mentor student doctors by aiding their research efforts.
